Animal models are promising enough for the understanding of psychopathotology, but not as a deviations of behavior, as well as a series of psychological processes that obey certain laws. Creating models of depression is experiencing a period of prosperity. There are several models of depression: chronic mild stress model, social conflict model, leaned helplessness model, water- immersion model. Many of them are based on some manipulation of the animals behavior, which have know biological effects.
