Influence of low-frequency transcranial electrostimulation of the brain on the spectral characteristics of ultrasonic vocalizations of mini-pigs of Svetlogorsk population

Abstract

The article presents a comparative analysis of the parameters of ultrasonic vocalizations of mini-pigs of Svetlogorsk population in the state of wakefulness and when exposed to electric sleep. Similar characteristics of both conditions is the prevalence of the power spectral density of ultrasound at frequencies of 15-20 kHz. The states of wakefulness and electric sleep have different spectral power density in the intervals 20-30 and 32-38 kHz. These effects may reflect the relationship of ultrasonic vocalizations and breathing cycle. The analysis of ultrasonic vocalization of animals when exposed to electric sleep can be recommended as a modeling method of evaluating of the hipnogen effects of pharmacological means, and also preclinical researches of the means possessing sleeping pill and other similar actions.
